SNATCH THE BALL

some strategies:
- be very vigilant on the look-out for the ball.

- grab the ball SUUUPER TIGHTLY

- help K to fend off those irritants. if he has 3 surrounding him, where are our 2 boys supposed to guard them?????

- FEAR-NOT

ok, ms sem and I will always support u guys.

'Whoosh'

just some random thoughts..

Hi B boys,

As much as i wanted you guys to win, i thought yesterday's match was a good wake up call to most of you. I do not want to repeat what mistakes we make, but just rememeber to learn from the mistakes, and treat it as a motivation to get you up and going again.

Yesterday's match triggered me to tell an old fable.. (ok..the ah-ma story again)

N years ago, a girl participated in a taekwondo tournament thinking that she would win the compeition because she was overly confident of herself and people kept telling her she would win. So, she went inside, din perform up to her standards and lost badly in the first round. This incident shook her really badly. But after that lesson, she became humble and train harder than anybody else. She succeeded in numerous competitions later and also learn from better competitors who won her.

Hey guys, the girl did not even have one chance because in taekwondo, its a knockout system. So, with the last chance on monday, i really hope you can put in your best effort without any regrets! Even if lost (choy), live to tell people you have already done your best!

Well, the teachers and coach can only do so much, what matters is how the SENGKANG team perform on Monday.

Here are a few things that i feel we need to beef up on:
1) fearless like what mdm tan say. Overcome your fears of physically aggressive opponents. Not easy i know. OVERCOME OVERCOME OVERCOME!

2) DEFENCE - JU SHOU! my favourite phrase! Stop them from making any shots, deny them any chance of passing. KIAP them when they drive pass you. Run faster to stop them when they are doing fast breaks. Do anything to stop them from scoring! Stop watching the damn show! Wake up your ideas!!!

3) Support your team mates instead of scolding them. give them encouragement! We all make mistakes, most important you play harder when you make a bad pass, a bad layup etc. But of cos, minimize your mistakes on monday!

4) Be more active during offense. Ask for the ball. Help your team mates. Shake off your defender . How u expect to get the ball if your stand behind the defender?!!

Okie, thats all from me! It's all up to u on Monday! All the best !

miss sem

Come ON!!!!

Confidence wins the half battle. (But not being over confident)
Here comes my power!
I show u my best shot!
Come and get me if u can!

And guys, remember this moment?

WE ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE UP ANY CHANCES!!!!!!

Mdm Tan

Hey boys

Today is quite an emotional ride.

It's inevitable that sometimes we do feel we are being left out by friends.

Maybe we are too sensitive.

For our own good.

It would be beneficial to reflect upon our actions.

Am I too sensitive enough?

Or have I done anything wrong previously?

TEAMWORK is of utmost importance in sports.

Discipline and hardwork are no exception.

Caring for my team mates and support each other in terms of difficult periods.

We work together for the good of the team.

To celebrate the joys together and improve together.

To feel happy for my friends who have good achievement.

And to strive each other for the best for improvement.

I am glad our team boys are a group of happy boys who have effortlessly bonded together.

Hope to see even better bonding maybe after few sessions of makan-ing together?

Buffet?

Zi cha?

Yum cha? (no lah, just kidding)

No worries, we will brave the storm together.

Seng Kang, all the way we go!!

:)

C'mon boys, even the ants know about teamwork. (Even ants also play basketball....)

We definitely can do it better!

Mdm Tan

(Note: On fri, ms sem will take down t-shirts size and i will get the FBT supplier to come down and show me samples.)

On a happier note, hey boys, Happy Chinese New Year!

Yeah!

Here's a dosage of morale booster!

Hi B boys!

Know some of you are quite discouraged while playing the match, but no matter what happens, tell yourself, you play for the team, the school! Put your unhappiness, your grievances aside.
Ultimately, the team is not the same without all of you. Every one has their own character, strengths and weaknesses. What matters is all of you put down your differences, come together as a team and play for the school.

In a team, we treat each other with respect, get to know each other better. Team bond if you have the time. I believe with team bonding, SKSS will go far in basketball. Motivate each other if any one is feeling down. Encourage one another, but also learn from the mistakes that you have done.

Meanwhile, Continue to work hard for the north zone champs, because YOU make a difference to the team.

Absent without no reason

UPDATED 8/1 7:30am: It has been confirmed that all Sec 4's will end their remedial latest by 3.40 p.m. What you have gotten is your old timetable. So, no excuses for coming later than 4 for training.

Dear B division players,

Please note that you are supposed to turn up for training unless you have a valid excuse and do keep me updated via sms/call like what I have told you before. Your attendance is taken every training.

The competition is coming and from today's training, i can see that most of you are not very ready in terms of fitness yet. Please go and practice yr free throw shoots daily. I will not be there to eye power u all, so do it at your own time. Captain/Vice Captain, please organise yourselves.

This Friday (10/1/07) , we have morning runs 2.4km at 650 a.m (you still need to gather at parade square at 720a.m). Friday runs will only last for a few (2,3) weeks before the tournament starts. So, please do not complain because the stamina is really important.
